Bear Sized Meals Coming Soon to Buena Park

Redding, Calif. – (June 3, 2014) – Black Bear Diner, an award-winning family dining concept renowned for serving bear-sized portions of comfort food classics in a bear-themed restaurant, announced today the opening of its 63rd restaurant, located in Buena Park, California. The official opening is scheduled for Monday, June 9th at 6:00 a.m. is located at 7005 Knott Avenue.

“We are thrilled to add Buena Park to the Black Bear Diner family,” said Bruce Dean, co-founder of Black Bear Diner. “We’re also humbled by the anticipation that has been building up for our arrival and we can wait to unveil the restaurant.”

Black Bear Diner features a unique bear-inspired theme and experience. The log cabin and bear-inspired décor creates warmth and coziness; the classic comfort food reminds people of home cooking; and the custom-carved wood bear sculptures serve as unique art and friendly, welcoming greeters.

The Buena Park location also features the largest custom-carved, location-inspired bear carving of all 63 Black Bear Diner locations. An experiential carving inspired by the larger than life attractions at Knott’s Berry Farm, the Black Bear Diner Express Train lets visitors play train conductor or passenger. The carving weighs nearly 2,500 pounds, features 67 feet of ponderosa wood, and took nearly 120 hours to complete by master woodcarver, Ray Schulz, the artist behind more than 220 custom-carved Black Bear Diner bears.

The restaurant is also hosting special VIP sneak peak on Saturday, June 8th. For a chance to be the first person to see the restaurant, enter the contest on the Black Bear Diner Facebook page.
